Sustainable tourism is about meeting the needs of visitors, businesses & communities whilst safeguarding, conserving & enhancing the special qualities of Dartmoor. To obtain full Charter status (which we have done) businesses must achieve agreed actions working with Dartmoor National Park Authority and we are proud to display their logo. We also have a GOLD AWARD from the ‘GREEN TOURISM BUSINESS SCHEME’; their highest possible accolade thereby demonstrating excellence in ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICE. Green tourism is a term used to describe best environmental practice within the tourism sector. It covers issues such as business efficiency, environmental management, waste, transport, as well as topics like social responsibility and biodiversity.
